The Loch Haven community is made up of approximately 300 homes and lots of which a large majority are members of our association.
The Association is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. Elections are held each November when five new Board members may be elected into office to replace five old members with expired terms. A president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary are also elected at this time. All committee chairpersons are appointed by the president and each committee chairperson may select his or her committee members. The Board of Directors is always looking for volunteers to help on the various committees. The time, place and agenda of every Association meeting will appear on the bulletin board or in a newsletter well in advance of every meeting.
The treasury is supported by membership dues, pier slip donations, and fund-raising activities throughout the year. Some fund-raising activities in the past have been dances, spaghetti dinners, luaus on the beach, community yard sales, bake sales and Loch Haven community fairs.
LHCA currently maintains several areas for the enjoyment of its members. The marina provides members with slips in Limehouse Cove. The beach has a swimming area, picnic tables, and playground equipment. Overlook
The overlook is located at the end of Loch Haven Drive, and as its name suggests is a beautiful parcel of land overlooking the South River. It is pleasantly landscaped and is especially nice for persons in the community not fortunate enough to have waterview property. At the foot of the overlook are steps leading to the beach. A walk from this point is nice on hot summer evenings. Or just dangle your feet over the bulkhead and watch the boats on the river. Community social events and one Civic Association meeting per year are held at the overlook in the summer.
Recreation Area
Off Loch Haven Dr. near Lake Haven is the community recreation area. There is another playground here, as well as volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts for the sports enthusiast. Come join us here at Christmas time for our community sing-along by the bonfire!
LHCA owns many other properties in the neighborhood, including a waterfront easement around much of Cape Loch Haven. You can access this property via the rights-of-way marked by LHCA posts. We also maintain the triangles at three intersections: Magnolia and South River, Maple Leaf and South River, and Cedar and Maple Leaf. The latter has a bench where you can rest on your evening stroll.
All members are encouraged to enjoy our facilities!
